ABOUT BEAZIE BEATS
A DJ’S STORY
Matthew Arellano, A.K.A., “Beazie Beats”, was raised in the Inland Empire (I.E.), in a musically diverse community with his family and friends. During Hip Hop’s “Golden Era” (1990’s), Matthew started his DJ career performing at family gatherings, school functions and local parties. While developing his DJ skills, Matthew showcased his fusion of genres like: Hip Hop, Funk, Motown, Oldies and Rock & Roll. This eclectic sense of music would outline his foundation as an artist, and later pave the direction toward his musical career.
Matthew has not only played at various nightclubs, in Southern California, but has performed alongside reputable names like: DJ Revolution, Mr. Choc, Trentino, and Kid Cut Up. Although his reputation began to grow in the local club/bar scene, he knew his skills could improve. Therefore, Matthew enrolled himself into the proclaimed Scratch Academy (Los Angeles, California). There, he would learn: cross-genre mixes, turntablism, improvisation, and intuitive crowd-reading. After graduating from the Scratch Academy, Matthew would implement his new techniques into his live mixes.
Currently, Matthew is the music Curator at Worthington’s Tavern (Riverside, California), and a promising music producer. Moreover, Matthew recently became an Alumni at Master Yueda Ben Atar’s (Side Brain) Beatlab Academy (Eagle Rock, California). There, he also worked with producers like Mike Parvizi (Penthouse Penthouse).
Although Matthew has accomplished plenty in his career, as a Dj/ Producer, he still has ambition to grow as an artist. His talent, work ethic and sheer love for music will always be a hard act to follow-in or out of the DJ booth.
